Lake Placid is one of two combined Bobsleigh/skeleton/luge tracks located in the united states. The 1500 meter track is located in the Verizon Sports Complex at Mt. Van Hoevenberg.

The Track

The track has 20 curves, 19 of which are timed for skeleton (curve 20 is used only for bobsled).

Lake placid old track is also located in the Verizon sports complex, and was used for passenger rides until the 2008 season when it was closed, assumedly permanently.

Lake Placid is home to the 2009 Bobsled and Skeleton World Championships.
